I am a homeschooling mom of two who loves to craft and save money. In this little blog you'll find quite a hodge-podge of stuff: paper crafting mainly cards, some sewing, homeschooling-related info, eating clean and green, off-the-grid living, and lots more! You can also check out my boards on Pinterest. If you have any comments or questions, feel free to post but please be kind: this is a family-friendly atmosphere. Thanks for stopping by and check back often.
And Beyond: Long-Haul Truck Driving
Now that my husband's driving long-haul, I've trying to find him a list of Wal-Mart stores as Wal-Marts seem to be pretty friendly to truckers. I would say still ask the store manager just to be sure if it's ok to park there overnight or even in the middle of the day, you never know. I think in the end, it'd still be up to the store manager's discretion. Here's a site I found that seems to be pretty up to date as it has some of the newer stores in our area.

I also am always on the look-out for non-perishable food items as they're the easiest, and in my husband's case, most likely to be eaten :) I think depending where you're driving to, you may not always have access to a microwave. So here's the partial list I've come up with:
- trail mix: you can buy the individual ingredients in bulk, such as nuts, dried fruit, etc, and then make smaller portions
- crackers are a great idea, especially the flavoured kinds you can find nowadays
- peanut butter, especially the kind that comes with jelly already swirled through it, I don't remember what it's called and as far as I know, I've only seen this in the USA unfortunately
- any nuts
Here's a pretty good list I found: http://enlightenedcooking.blogspot.com/2008/02/non-perishable-healthy-snacks_09.html
